This is a play on the classic patty melt! I used to eat 1 and sometimes two of these in a sitting back in highschool and WERE BRINGING THEM BACK! Sweet Grass Dairy just developed a new sourdough sandwich style loaf of bread and it is the perfect soft and pillowy texture! Patty melts are like a combination of a burger and a hot sandwich like a panini! They are rich from the burger, sweet from the caramelized onion, creamy from the mozzarella cheese and the sweet mustard mayo for it is out of control! These will be the perfect addition to your memorial day celebration and will have your family impressed and drooling over your shoulder waiting for them to finish. They go together completely on the grill and get a nice smokey, charred flavor from the screaming hot charcoal! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!
