Greetings!
We want to welcome you personally to our Sweet Grass Farm Family. We know change can be hard, but we wanted to share some info to make the transition as smooth as possible.
But first a little bit about our past. Sweet Grass was born in March of 2013 when Elizabeth & I moved to Fredericktown, OH. We had a dream of building a local food community on our newly acquired 140 acre organic farm. In the beginning we were one of Horizon's 700 family farms producing milk for the grocery store. From 2013 to 2018 we produced milk for Horizon and began our herdshare program. Over those 5 years we added pastured chicken, grass fed/finished beef, eggs, woodlot pork, and much more. In 2018 we were faced with a decision to quit direct marketing and produce only for Horizon, but our heart is with the local food community! We said good bye to Horizon and went local only! Today about 250 families are apart of Sweet Grass Farm family, and we couldn't be happier about being your family farmer.
Our dream was inspired by my high school experience working on a grass based dairy and growing grass fed beef and chicken on my parents 4 acres. Joel Salatin was an inspiration to me as a young person.
Elizabeth grew up on a conventional dairy farm. She thought my ideas were a bit quirky at first. But when we made our move in 2013 she quickly fell in love with the organic farming practices. We live this life because this is what we want our children to eat and live.
We purchased a herd of cows that had been bred for A2 milk production. We have continued building a closed herd of great cows. Scarlet's cows will find a wonderful home here grazing right along side our herd.
The saying goes, We are what we eat. The same goes for our food. We strive to grow the cleanest best food while building a more resilient ecosystem on our farm each year.

Convenience:
In 2013 we started our farm store in our garage. We out grew that in a couple of years. 2015 I learned to develop a website, and we were one of the first farms in the area to offer online ordering with drop points of customized orders. Over the past few years we integrated more options and have offered home delivery to the greater Columbus area.
So here is the plan:
1. We want to integrate you to ordering from our website. This does mean that you will need to place a weekly or biweekly order. We allow the ability to adjust your milk volume to your needs. (milk one week and none the next if you want) The online ordering ensures that we pack exactly what each person needs. (Milk, meat, eggs)
2. We will deliver the current Scarlett route for March 28, March 31, April 4, April 7, April 11, April 14, and April 18. If you find one of our other drops or home deliveries works better feel free to make the jump.(details to our other options below)
Our proposed ideas though after April 18 is to move the existing Scarlett drops to a Saturday and Tuesday at private homes near the original sites.
3. What are the options
Home Delivery: $75 order minimum. $8.99 Delivery for orders under $150. We deliver every other Tuesday. Please give us your input over the coming weeks.
Drop Points: Order any $value of product. Pick up at designated location during designated time. Our current Westerville drop happens every other Tuesday. Details in button below.
Farm Store: This is the most value friendly. Just come shop at our self help store. It's open daylight hours all year long. We try to keep it fully stock, but no guarantees on Sundays. No need to place an online order. We accept cash, check, or credit cards at the farm store.
All of our public items are available to the public. Our herdshare options are also available by a non public link or by searching for the product in the product search bar. These items can be added to you order either way.
Here is the Herdshare page link: (I would recommend saving to a favorites tab for easy access)
A2A2 herdshare
Cream
Butter
Just Remember to add these to your order for each delivery. Flexibility to your volume is totally accepted. Payment is made for each share you receive and not monthly payment.
Pictures below are what your ordering should look like.
Let us know if you have any questions.
